Master Molder

Responsible for handling products, equipment and materials per the company's quality system procedures. Use scientific and systematic molding techniques to improve molding quality, productivity and profitability. Creates specific work instructions for each job to fulfill the order requirements. Works closely with project designers, manufacturing engineers, project managers, quality personnel and the director of tool manufacturing from the design phase through the build phase providing feedback regarding design changes or enhancements.  Assists all team members in the design review process when needed. Responsible for stopping production anytime the quality of the product may be affected. Monitors and assists in the scheduling of press time for the debugging of molds. Assists in set-up and verification of first production runs. May provide input to APQP and corrective action activities as required. Works closely with Management personnel in various aspects of the manufacturing operations. Participates in the planning of manufacturing processes including automation of production processes if applicable. Participates in the planning of new projects to determine parts and tools necessary in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. Plans, coordinates and implements special programs in order to optimize manufacturing operations, such as: Principles of 5S, Quick change/set-up reduction, Principles of Lean and TPM.

Skills/Training/Experience:

  • Certified Master Molder
  • Molding experience using scientific and systematic molding techniques

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Good work history and pre-employment drug screening required
  • Ability to frequently lift at least 20 lbs.
  • Excellent math skills
  • Basic understanding of SPC
  • Good mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
  • Basic understanding of Quality System and relevance to production operations activities
  • Must abide by company dictated Personal Protective Equipment requirements and OSHA dictated requirements such as machine guarding
  • Responsible for general housekeeping activities
  • Other duties may be assigned

Press Operator

Responsible for handling products, equipment and materials per the company's quality system procedures. Follows specific work instructions provided for each job to fulfill the order requirements. Visually inspects parts for defects. Also may inspect dimensionally using micrometers, calipers, gages or mold mimics. Submits sample parts to inspection per instructions. Responsible for stopping production anytime the quality of the product may be affected. Responsible for general housekeeping functions to maintain a clean working environment.

Skills/Training/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Punch press and or mold press experience in the metal stamping and or molding industry preferred, not required

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Good work history and pre-employment drug screening required
  • Ability to frequently lift at least 20 lbs
  • General math skills
